    Rue Landau is endorsed by the 2nd Ward Democrats for City Council At-Large. Rue is a civil rights attorney, housing rights organizer, activist and member of the LGBTQ community, and a committeeperson in the 2nd Ward. Rue has centered her career around protecting housing for thousands of the city’s most vulnerable residents. She led initiatives to expand the city’s Fair Practices Ordinance and Fair Housing Ordinance, adding civil rights protections including wage equity, fair chance hiring for people with criminal records, reasonable accommodations for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and good cause eviction safeguards, among others. Rue has also been a committed activist, from working to expand access to social services during the AIDS pandemic to combating hate crimes against marginalized groups after the 2016 election.
