Judge Cateria McCabe was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas by Governor Wolf in 2019. As a practicing attorney she worked in private practice, as a city solicitor, and as an attorney at the Senior Law Center. Her varied experience makes her well-qualified to continue to serve on the Court of Common Pleas. As a practicing attorney, Judge McCabe demonstrated compassion for her clients, and she brings that same level of compassion to the parties and children who appear before her in Family Court. She fought to keep her clients in their homes while working at the Senior Law Center. As a judge she works to engage various stakeholders through the Family Engagement Initiative to avoid out-of-home placement of children or place them with kin outside the immediate family. Judge McCabe’s understanding of the needs of families and experience serving her former clients make her an excellent addition to the court.
