The 2nd Ward Democrats endorse incumbent Isaiah Thomas for City Council At-Large. During his first term in City Council, Isaiah Thomas authored and supported legislation to improve community safety and the gun violence epidemic, worker’s rights, voting access, public education youth programs and youth programs. Among many legislative accomplishments during his term is his Driving Equality Law which removes traffic stops for minor violations that historically promote discrimination for people of color. An educator, basketball coach, youth mentor, and active community member, Thomas’ legislative record and campaign priorities are focused on public safety, high-quality public education and youth programming, clean and green streets, and economic vitality.
