The Second Ward Democrats endorse Eugene DePasquale for Pennsylvania Attorney General. DePasquale, a Pittsburgh native now residing in York, served two terms in the State House of Representatives, and in 2012 was elected PA Auditor General. His office focused on environmental issues, gun and school safety and exposed issues with the state’s child abuse hotline, and local law enforcement’s failure throughout the state to process rape kits thereby hindering the prosecution of rape cases. He is adamant about election integrity, including the right to vote, and is a strong advocate for reproductive freedom and access for all citizens to decent healthcare. He pledges to prosecute companies which violate environmental and consumer protection statutes including abuses in the healthcare industry, as well as hate crimes committed against all minorities. He will work effectively with law enforcement but will not tolerate police misconduct.

He has the experience, administrative skills, judgement, and values needed to be an excellent Attorney General. DePasquale is an outstanding candidate in this must win election for the state’s top law enforcement job.
