
The 2nd Ward Democrats endorse incumbent Kenyatta Johnson for City Council in the second councilmanic district. Kenyatta Johnson has been an active and engaged representative of his community, supporting legislative efforts to improve the quality of life for his constituents. Representing the Hawthorne neighborhood of the 2nd ward, he has helped over a thousand workers at the airport to join a union, was an early co-sponsor of Councilmember Helen Gym’s Fair Workweek bill, supported the Construction Impact Tax to fund affordable housing, and co-sponsored Paid Sick Leave legislation. He pushed for the approval of over 100 affordable housing units in partnership with many community organizations and affordable housing stakeholders. Johnson will continue championing important policy efforts to protect the affordability of his district and overall quality of life of his community.
