The 2nd Ward Democrats endorse Nikil Saval for Pennsylvania Senate, District 1. Saval was first elected as a State Senator representing Philadelphia’s first senatorial district in 2020. Since then, Senator Saval has centered his legislative work around creating structural change to impact affordable housing, mass incarceration, and the climate crisis. Notably, he introduced the Whole home Repairs Act, which provides grants up to $50,000 to eligible residents to make safe and healthy home repairs. Before Senator Saval was elected to office, he co-founded Reclaim Philadelphia and served as Ward Leader of the 2nd Ward Democrats.
